it’s been fourteen months since i quit mapping, and six months since i’ve returned. i earnestly thought i would truly quit by the end of this year, but SOMEHOW i’ve been proven very wrong!
seven years is a long time, and with 2026 around the corner i’m going into my eighth year of mapping.
this year was equal parts humbling and inspiring; never before have i been filled with such an unwavering hope for the next generation of mappers, and likewise never before have i felt my age here so strongly. people like -Arko, MeowUsername, KomachiBaka, 6pX, kuyusu, and more (not to mention obwc!?) are pushing the bounds of mapping way farther than i thought it could ever be pushed! to be here in osu! for just a little while longer would be nothing short of an honor for me.
whether or not mapping is a “valid artform” is mattering to me less and less. though it’s been incredibly difficult, rekindling my love for it has made me fufilled in a way i haven’t been in years, and no one can take that away from me. i wanna say thanks to downpour, ancel, wyit, and -Arko (most promising) for helping me as i start making maps again.
and thank you for the warm reception on my latest maps! i’m never fully satisfied with what i make, but your support truly means everything to me… okay, maybe not everything. being approval hungry will kill you!
